Joshua, thanks for reading and responding. The point of my article was not to say that our current era is without flaws. As we grind on decade by decade the pendulum swings and we’re currently seeing in this country and possibly elsewhere, I’m not qualified to say, a dumbing down as it was first described back in the nineties. However, the advances in technology, while they certainly come with a price, have made our lives overall more comfortable and healthier. I take issue with those who have a wave of nostalgia that colors everything in the past rosy and everything in the present dark and dangerous. To me it goes hand in hand with a willingness to ignore science and facts, another disturbing trend, which may not be exclusive to this country.
